Silent Night [OPEN] « Thread Started on Nov 19, 2006, 2:47pm »
Eli paced the sixth floor corridor right after dinner and walked across a section of the wall three times, with an open flute in his hand. What he needed was a music room... A room to relax and cool off, as well as get in a few bars of Christmas carols. He was planning to bring his flute to the Christmas feast and play for everyone. It was a simple task since Christmas carols weren't exactly the hardest thing to play.
A door to the Room of Requirement opened. Eli had known about this room since his second year at Hogwarts, where he learned about it from someone who was nice enough to show him around. His benefactos had graduated last year, Eli hasn't een him since then, nor did he care. He wasn't trying to be mean, but he had better things to think about than an old friend.
Eli stepped into the room and sat down on a comfy couch. It was a queer thing; why was a couch inside a music room? But Eli had wished and the room had serviced him. Eli brought the flute by his lips and blew, gently at first and then increasing in volume. He was starting with the classic "Silent Night", not noticing that the door to the room was slightly ajar.
The flowing notes of "Silent Night" drifted down the sixth floor corridor, almost welcoming anyone who walked on that floor.

Classes had not yet started and the young Ravenclaw girl strode silently down corridor after corridor. Her current location was lost to her, for Giada Black was in a sort of daze as she turned a corner and began walking, quite slowly, down the sixth floor corridor. Her mind had been quite dizzy lately. It was the first year she would not be attending Hogwarts with her brother, Orion, and there had been rumors floating around that people from the past had come to the future. Giada hadn't believed them, of course.
Her conciousness snapped back to her as she walked past a door that stood ajar, with audible music coming from within the room. Stopping, Giada turned around and pushed open the door another inch. There, sitting on a couch sat a Hufflepuff boy Giada had never seen before. He was playing the flute, which rang through the room with a blissful tune. Clearing her throat, Giada stepped in and strode over to the boy, a smile plastered onto her face.

Eli stopped his musicand looked up at the Ravenclaw girl which had intruded into his song. What? I thought the door was closed... He smiled, however, and put down his flute. Gesturing to the seat next to him, he said, "I'm Eli Leicester, sixth year Hufflepuff. I suppose I left the door open..."
He was quite surprised that he met a girl that he had' seen before, because he knew quite a few people at Hogwarts. Oh well, meeting new people was fun, sometimes, and interesting, sometimes. Her being a Ravenclaw didn't contribute to the "fun and interesting" aspect, but that was stereotyping, and stereotyping was often wrong.
Eli grinned in amusement as he realized how he must seem to her. A Hufflepuff boy who's sitting alone in the a room playing Christmas carols on a flute when it wasn't even Christmas yet. Maybe it would be an interesting conversation after all.
